Laughter and the Sky

You laughed the stars
into the sky
And cried as the clouds
came floating by

Why did they block
the spectacular view?
Had they nothing
else to do?

You will the wind
to chase them now
Applaud as it turns
to take a bow

The moon takes on
a subtle glow
And the twinkling stars
complete the show

This poem is a slightly modified version of my submission to Cubby’s Prompt: Laughter.
